Happy New Year

2008's been a busy year for me.
  • I turned 16
  • I got my permit
  • My Parents decided to try to adopt
  • I went to Pensacola Christian College's Art Camp
  • I saw the ocean
  • I went to Sagmount for the first time
  • I let God lead me to work towards missions
  • I went back to work at the fireworks stand I had swore I'd never return to.
  • I got my first real job (at QT)
  • I got my liscence
  • I took my ACT for the first (and only) time.
  • My Grandma came for a visit
  • We got to foster.

Wow, a lot has happened...

Went to church tonight, watched Fireproof, absolutely fantastic movie. We hung out for a litte while then came home

My sibs and g-ma are all sick, hoping it's just a quick little bug, and that the rest of us don't get whatever they have.

I'm absolutely loving playing the part of big sister to a baby, not used to that. : )

I'm playing with facebook, typing this, and watching Arsenic and Old Lace, trying to stay awake 'till midnight. : )

Curious to see what next year brings.

Whatever God wants to send I suppose :)

Alrighty, I'm off; I might update the other blog, idk.

Night all.

Happy new year!

Christmas is over...:( New years is soon though! :D

Hi everybody! what's up? How was your Christmas?
Mine was fantastic, We had a Christmas Eve service at our church. Me and my sibs all played the piano. Abbi and Esther both did very well...I totally slaughtered my song, but it was entirely my fault.
I was paying attention to the crowd and not my song. Completely destroying my song helped me pay attention to what I was focusing on.
So, I'm better off having messed up and embarrassed myself, than having done well. Thank you Lord!

The rest of the evening we played with the one gift we were allowed to open...Mario Kart! WAAAAAAY fun! Then we watched "White Christmas" and "A Muppet Christmas Carol" Then I sneaked off to my bedroom because I kept waking up camped out on the floor. (My sisters totally got on me about that)

Christmas day was fun, my sisters let us all sleep in until 7...:)
We read Luke 2, then opened presents.
I got Chris Tomlin Music *yes* and some other stuff, like awesome Eeyore pants!...My parents opened THE present, the one I have been SOOOO excited about.

We went to Sears Portrait Studio and got our pictures taken together, it was cool, and my parents Loved it! Way cool.

The rest of our family (G-ma Smith, Uncle Chris, Aunt Barb, Rachel & Maggie) showed up by 12:30 when we opened more gifts.

It was a good time... a looong day.

Friday, Mom and I picked up G-ma Sharky from the airport, and she's been hanging out with us.
That night Dad took me to go see "Bedtime Stories" (wait for the dollar show, it's nowhere near as good as "Night in the Mueseum".)
That night I also got a facebook account, which is confusing but fun.

Saturday was work, I got register time and am getting a little quicker. I work tomorrow at 4 and then am off until saturday!

Wed. Night is new years eve, going to church to watch "Fireproof" and hang out 'till midnight.
Thursday is my birthday! gonna be 17 It's exciting kinda...I mean...it's cool to have another birthday but I think 18 will be really exciting. : )

That's really all I got for now...I'll probably write more this week (which I have off! Sweet!)

Alrighty, write to ya later!

"Excuse me but...Where exactly was this in the job description...?"

Merry Christmas Everybody!!!

Okay, for an update...hmmm....

First off Work. When the job description said "cleaning restrooms" this was not exactly what I was expecting.
I was working a shift from noon to 6 on Saturday, it was about oh, 4:30, when a gentleman said
"You may want to check the men's restroom when you get a chance, it's pretty nasty."
I hopped down from the checkstand to go clean it. You could smell it out in the hallway, but I didn't think anything of it. (The men's room smells bad often)
Expecting some trash all over the floor (for some reason people don't like to take the extra half step to throw things IN the trash can...: )
Putting on my gloves and grabbing some cleaning spray, I opened the door, and most certainly did not see TRASH all over the floor.
And of course, guess who's shift ended soonest...Well I'll spare you the details but they let me go home a half hour early to go get a shower, and they said when the two guys on the next shift got there they would clean the rest of it.
That is my most recent experience at quik trip.

But on to better things...

CHRISTMAS IS TOMORROW! (16 hrs, 21 min, 5 sec away)

I am SOOO ready.
Tonight is the Christmas Eve service. Abbi, Esther and I will be playing the piano, so that will be fun.
The service is only supposed to last for an hour...:) we'll see....

My Grandma will be here the day after Christmas
I'll be 17 the week after, so this is an exciting time!
So today, I will be doing two school videos & homework and then as soon as thats done, watching all of those horrible old Christmas programs which I love so much! Then tonight's the service and tomorrow's Christmas!

Alright, I'm going to go eat.
Hope to see you guys tonight.

Merry Christmas!

One very excited Hannah Smith!

Okay, so, Christmas is just around the corner! I am so happy with what I got everybody I cannot wait! ...of course, I cannot wait to see what I got either... : )

So, we had the play last Sunday night, it went really well, I messed up my lines but unless you saw the play being practiced you really couldn't tell, because I was supposed to speak in broken sentances, jumping from one thing to another anyway...so that worked out well. :D
(btw did you hear that some Russian guy copyrighted the emoticon???)
Thursday I saw Fireproof with Melissa, had a fantastic time. Good company, good movie, good time!

Thursday was also the day my Dad had his tonsillectomy. (He got his tonsils taken out)
He's doing okay, he's had it rough and is craving real food. But it still hurts to swallow I guess.
He says he feels like Vito Corleone from the Godfather, beckoning people close and then mumbling at them. :D He's so funny!

Well, I said I'd post pictures of Reggie, our German Shepherd (from the last post)
so here he was:

He was such a good dog!
Not a whole lot else to say...
I watched Horton Hears a who, and Kit Kittredge
(both very cute)
I plan to review those on centeredview.blogspot.com
Alrighty!
Night all!

Hello All!

Hey guys!
Been a while since I updated, sorry.
What's happened....
Okay, We had our cantata at Park Hills on Sunday, that was a lot of fun, we were there before the choir so we got to practice on more time, the choir/bus got lost, but they arrived in plenty of time. : )
The choir sounded good, and I really liked how, at the end when everyone sang it was SOOO loud! I really liked that a lot.
So, the play:

For those who don't know, my part in the play was very small, I flirt with a guy who has a lot of money, then dump him over the phone when he runs out.
So I really don't know if I should be flattered or offended when people say "You are really good at that!"... no just kidding, it's fun. ; )

The play went really well, there were no big mix-ups in lines or anything.
And I think we all act pretty well. : )
Lets see... what else....

I worked Monday and Tuesday. I have to work Friday from 4 - 12, which, I don't want to work that late, but I would be fine if it weren't for the fact that my ACT is the next morning. I'm nervous as it is.
I can't really ask off though, because I'd been asking for more hours, so now they give me some... oh well, I'm pretty sure I'll be okay.
Tuesday I worked until 8, and as walked outside to my car I looked up, and there was the pepsi truck, parking me in.
lovely.
It was fine though, I just had to hang out for another 10 minutes, and it makes kind of a funny story.

...kinda like that camping trip...
We found out a little while ago, that the German Shepherd we had, Reggie, (who we had had to give back to the original owner because of the adoption) had to be put to sleep because he had a tumor. : (
So, it did work out well though, because we didn't have to do it.
I'm having trouble with the blog, so I'll put a couple of pics of him in a seperate post, later.
He was a cutie!
So, molly went to the vet because she's super fat and is losing her fur, she's got a thyroid problem, but nothing wrong with other internal organs so, she's good. *YAY*
Very excited, I get to go hang out with Melissa Ham tonight, we are going to go see "Fireproof" So excited! Love Melissa!
The Coolbaughs (my youth pastor and his family) came over Tuesday night, I was looking at pictures and it looked like they had a good time, but I was stuck behind a pepsi truck so I wouldn't know first hand... : )
I love the Coolbaughs so much, they really encourage all of us to grow. I am so thankful they came, I really don't think I would be the way I am now without them coming.
God works in all things.
I think that's about all I got right now... I cannot wait until Christmas, I am sooooooooo excited about what my sibs and I got my parents! I tell you that later. so excited!
Alrighty I need to go do school math now.
Talk to ya later!

Okay, so updated the template of my blog for Christmas! Yay!

Not much going on.
Had church and piano tonight.

Got my schedule for next week, I get 16 hours because two or three people didn't show up for their one-on-one meetins, so Dave (my manager) gave me their hours.
I work 4 hours monday 4 hours tuesday and 8 hours friday. I work until midnight which I've never done before.
Interestingly enough, my ACT is the next morning... So hopefully I'll be able to get off early, if not, oh well.

Sunday is our church's Christmas cantata/play at another church. So we get to travel down there, that'll be fun. I'm excited.

Made Gingerbread house with Abbi and Esther today, here are some pics. : )

Abbi did the front side...

I did that side, and Esther did the roof

I did this side.

Abbi did this side and Esther did the roof.

Okay, so, Went out to my uncle's house for Thanksgiving, had a very nice time. Then I went to work, and had an okay time. : )

Today-game day! *Yay*
My dad's friend came over and they're upstairs playing on the computer.
We (my mom, sibs and myself) are downstairs watching movies and making crafts.
So far we have watched:
Fred Clause (I liked it)
Penelope (very cute)
and now we are watching Journey to the Center of the Earth.
We will be watching Bella and The Magic of Ordinary Days later.

I got to pick up the final item for my parent's Christmas gifts. heeheeheehee. I sneaked it into the car and hid it from my mom.

My friend Melissa is coming over tonight to watch The magic of ordinary days. Very excited.

Thanksgiving-Giving Thanks
I am thankful for my Parents, my Church especially my pastors and their families.

Alrighty, I'm off to watch the movie. : )
See ya!
Give thanks.

A Sting, Thanksgiving, and The Pepsi Guys

What do those 3 things have in common???? Well, they're all going to be discussed in todays post, and they all involve my job.

So I worked last night from 4 until 10 o'clock.

In that time:
I traded shifts with Amy, my favorite co-worker. So I now work Thanksgiving until 10 o'clock. (that's a good thing, I want to work thanksgiving).
I dropped some beer in the cooler and it spilled. (lovely sickly sweet smell on my hands *ick*) it was only a small spill for those of you who plan to make fun, AND it's the first time it's happened. Okay first time it's happened and what I dropped broke. :)
The Pepsi guys came and filled the soda cooler, and they told us that two Pepsi guys out in Illinois had been held at gunpoint because the robbers thought they had money from QT.
Amy had a sting. In other words an 18 year old tried to buy beer, Amy carded her, which was a good thing because if she hadn't she would have gone to jail.
That made me paranoid and my rule has changed from QT's.
QT says if they look 26 or younger, card them, I say, You don't have grey hair, or you don't look my grandparents age, you will be carded.

Your opinion, time!

Okay, we have 2 guys waiting in line for the restroom, well, there is a guy (not a part-time clerk, and actual cleaner) in there cleaning. He's got this big yellow cart with a bunch of equipment sitting in front of the door, with just enough room to get through to the womens room, okay?
So,
Customer: Is someone in there cleaning?
Me (something along the lines of ): Yes.
Customer: You should have a sign out or something.
Amy(from the checkstand): We don't have a sign.
Customer: I'm just saying, you should get one or-
Amy: All of his stuff's in front of the door. You can use the womens-
Me: I'll go check the womens.
at this point the bathroom cleaner comes out and Customer goes in.
A few minutes later Customer comes out and mutters something about "behavior for a manager"
(Amy's not a manager by the way)
So he walks to the door and starts complaining. He says he was just trying to be helpful, and he doesn't come to QT to be treated like that, that's why he goes to QT's, repeats that a few times, calls Amy a rude name and then leaves.

Okay, Amy didn't think she was rude, the Manager didn't think she was rude, I didn't think she was rude. the only place I found possible fault in was "His stuff's in front of the door"
The guy's swearing was definately not necessary, but was he right to be upset?
(this is where you comment:)

So yes, last night was interesting... busier than most Tuesdays.

My sisters and I went Christmas shopping for our parents on Monday, Totally excited, cannot wait for Christmas. (btw, I LOVE having my liscence.)

Okay, I'm off to eat breakfast and start school.
see ya all later.

Influence

Good evening all!

I worked yesterday, had a very nice time. It was a long night, I guess that's just Tuesdays though. I got to talk to two of my coworkers about homeschooling, and the adoption (for those of you out of the loop my parents and my sibs and I are trying to adopt)
It was very cool, I really like the people I work with.

Had school today and church tonight.
Tonight we talked about being under the influence of the world. Pastor C. gave us a list of "Biblical ways to discern whether a certain activity glorifies God" Because I watch movies and tv a lot, that's what I will generally apply it to.
Here's the list:

  1. Does it present a temptation to sin? (Rom 13:14; 2Tim 2:22)
  2. Is it beneficial? (1 Cor 6:12a; 10:23)
  3. Is it enslaving? (1 Cor 6:12b) (I define it as something you have to do, something you have to watch, putting it at much to high a priority, in my case, something that would go above schoolwork, Bible reading, Prayer time)
  4. Does it honor and glorify God? (1 Cor 10:31) (Ouch, that one hurts)
  5. Does it promote the good of others? Is it edifying? (1 Cor 10:33) (Ouch again)
  6. Does it cause anyone to stumble? (1 Corinthians 10:32) This is a big thing too, it shows how selfish I can be. Am I so selfish that I'm not willing to give up something so stupid. (and really, just about any show is not that important, it really isn't beneficial to me,) but, in not willing to give up that show, I have decided to let someone spiritually hurt, and stumble and fall? That's something to think about.
  7. Does it arrive from a pure motive? (Jeremiah 17:9) Now, the motive in life is to glorify God in all you do, you were saved to glorify God. So, when you are watching that show/movie, who/what are you glorifying?
So, now, I need to take some time to think about what I've been watching, and if I'm going to continue watchin it or not.

Another couple of points made, include:

  • Movies and TV should not be default free time
  • The only thing that's non-negotialbe, is that I have to do what God has said, I can give up TV time, that is negotiable.
  • You should be able to critique on Biblical Values. TV shows, movies, music, anything, you should be discussing not only the good graphics of the movie, or the good dialouge, but what were some elements of truth, what was error? so on and so forth.

I really appreciate all of my pastors at my church. I just thought you guys should know that.

I took a practice ACT test for the English test today, did relatively well, so, now I have to look at the math one, and I read over some of it and I am reaaallly nervous about that one. So, we'll see.

I don't really know how to study for a math test...

Alrighty, I am off.

Night all!

No Clever Title Tonight

Sooo... A lot has happened since I last updated.

Abbi figured out my password for one... have to change that...
no just kidding, I let her update for me.

Lets see... I worked election night, that was nice. It was really slow, 'cuz everyone was at home watching the election I guess.

So, Obama is now our President-elect. I have to say, I don't agree with the man, but, as my President, he will have my prayers and my respect. (Romans13:7)
You do realize, that God appoints our President, since He is the one who puts rulers into place. (Romans 13:1) so, whining about your leader is criticizing God's decision.

Okay, so, last Thursday went over to my Aunt and Uncles house and spent the night so I could put my cousins on the bus in the morning for them. That was pretty cool. (I really like having my license) I watched "Pride and Prejudice" with Kiera Knightly. I really like Jane Austen's works, I'll have to actually read her books one of these days. : )

Friday I went over to my Grandma's house and spent the night, I watched "Pride and Prejudice" and "Santa Clause 3"

I like "Pride and Prejudice" Okay?

The cold weather has finally hit, and it is very cold. The days have gotten that snowy look to them and it gets dark really early, so Christmas is on my mind.

(My absolute favorite holiday by the way.)

I work tomorrow, have two tests, English and Math. Took my American Government test today and think I did well.

Sunday, I went to my Aunt and Uncles for my cousin's birthday party, had a very nice time, then had AWANA's with my Sparkies!!!

Was feeling kinda lonely Sunday, but, feeling better now.
My sisters and I got to spend like an hour Sunday night talking to my Dad about anything and everything, it was very cool. My parents are awesome.

So, found out my GPA was 2.53, so it still needs to go up. I'm trying to do better in school, to make myself work at it. But, me being lazy, makes it difficult, so that's an area I'm trying to grow in.

NANC is two weeks away already! Can you believe that?! The third and final session. : (

I've been playing on the piano more lately, I'm trying to combine two pieces of music that I have. (Carol of the Bells and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. My two favorite Christmas songs) That's going okay but not fantastic, I don't know if I'll be able to do it or not. I can not wait for all of those old horrible Christmas movies to come on TV, Rudolph and Jack Frost, I really like those. I like sitting and watching them with my sisters, with the lights off but the Christmas lights hung inside the room on. The Christmas tree lights on too.

Alrighty, I'm off to go see what my mom's up to. My sisters are watching "Pride and Prejudice" (can you tell we don't own the movie?) and waiting for Heroes to record.

So, night all!

Quick Trip

ahhh...

just got home from work about 20 minutes ago.

now i'm updating, eating a bag of chocolate covered pretzels, drinking sprite, and watching the cosby show.

not much has happened for me to update you on.

Worked today and yesterday, and only work tuesday next week. had a very long night, very very busy.

I worked halloween night, and if every halloween night was like that one, I would be happy to work that night.

every one was in a good mood, no one was ticked when i told them i couldn't sell them their beer. And we had some good costumes come through. : )
We had :
A cow
A pirate
two convicts
and this afternoon:
the joker from 'the dark night' ( I still want to see that movie )

i can't remember any other good ones.

i think i'm going to try to illiustrate my title "in the center" with a drawing. Not sure yet.

ummmm..... trying to think of something to write....

alrighty,
i'm coming up with nothing.
so, good night everybody, and dont forget to set your clocks back!

quick update!

Only got like 2 minutes so plese excuse any typos!

Nanc is going well, we talked about communicaton, the role of the husband and wife, and marriage in general.
It's really cool to see God growing people through this!!
Heading off shortly, not sure of everything we're going to be talking about today but I will enjoy it. I love learning about God.

Okay, had a question on the last post. "Since when am I going to BBC? I thougt Pensacola Christian." I decided on BBC pretty much because that is a 'missions' school. and reading in the BBFI information, the wife of a missionary must go through the same education he does. And it would make things eaiser if I just went to BBC rather than another school where I would have to take another semester? Year? (can't remember no time to look, I'll clarify later.) And even thinking about it right now as I type, I also want to get a certificate from the community college involving web design and some other stuff, so. Hopefully BBC next fall! We'll see what God has planned.

Always, whatever God has planned I will be in the center. : )

Go ye therefore and teach all nations... Matthew 28:19

Okay, so NANC has come around again, totally excited!

That video on the previous post is NOT a good example of NANC counseling, that is NOT what we're taught!
Just wanted to clarify...

...it is funny though... : )

Not much up right now, family and I are watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Stumbled upon that show which has become a favorite.

STOP IT!

Awesome. : )

Okay, so, haven't updated in a while, been doing schoolwork. What's happened lately...?

hmmm...

I got my hair chopped short, like, ridiculously short, too short to pull back into a ponytail. That was Wednesday.

Saturday I went to my friend's surprise party, it was really cool, she thought it was her sisters party and then she gets home and it's for her! Had a good time there. Then I went and got my senior pictures taken at a park, some friends from church took them for me. We then went to my parent's class activity "Nacho Night."

I love nachos.

Sunday, had a parent teen lunch played dodgeball-always fun- and drove up to church, then home again, then up to church six times. I think my car is going to automatically drive that direction from now on.

I work tomorrow, 7 to 2 (the only day I work this week), have piano lessons, and then church.

NANC FRIDAY!!!! YAY!!!!!

Read a book on George Muller this morning. He was an incredible man, he started out as a prussian theif, and ended up running five houses for orphans in Bristol England all on prayer, he never asked money from anyone but God.

He lived until he was 93! that is back in the 1800's he outlived his first wife, who was eight years older, and his second wife 21 years younger.

As I was reading the book it was at the part where he was studying Hebrew, because he wanted to be a missionary to the Jews, and he had 6 months. And I started getting all excited. He was studying to be a missionary and in about a year I will be too! I don't know, reading that kinda made me able to see myself studing from some big textbook, until then it was just 'yeah, college next year hopefully.' But I'm starting to get excited.

I'll write more about Muller later, he was just an incredible man.

On a much less serious note...

I made a cheese sauce for home ec today and it worked!!! YAY!

The last thing I made for home ec was yeast bread. Ummmmm... Yeah okay, the bread didn't rise at all and it was really heavy, and it didn't cook all of the way through, so I'm very excited about my cheese sauce.

Alrighty, I think that's good for now.

Talk to ya later!

Later Update:::

Changed my background again, because I was having trouble with the formatting on the other one. : )

And the poll for Batman vs Buddy is over. I would like to thank all 5 of you who voted. : ) Buddy the elf won with 3 votes, Batman only received 1, and Don't make me choose got 1 vote.

alrighty, night all.

The Motions

Had a good day today. Work and school.
I really like my manager, Dave, he's very easy to approach when I have a question.

Took my sisters over to their friends house so, home alone watching the Cosby Show right now. Might watch the Godfather later, I don't know.

Have to do schoolwork tomorrow.
Have a vocation and patriotic project to work on and homework.

Listening to Matthew West earilier. Has a really good chorus in the song "The Motions"

"I don't wanna go through the motions
I don't wanna go one more day,
Without your all-consuming
Passion inside of me.
I don't wanna spend my whole life askin'
'What if I had given everything, instead of goin' throught the motions?'"

I thought it was really good.

Trying to figure out how to get music to play on this so I can play "The Center" but, it involves html and I have absolutely NO idea how to mess with that so-
I'm off. My class is going to paintball tomorrow, I have to miss
: ( I LOVE paintball. Oh well.
Friend day, Sunday curious to see how many people come.

Alrighty, Night all!

Westerns

I really enjoy westerns. Way fun to watch, even if they're very predictable.
Just finished watching "The Magnificent Seven" for the first time.
It ended just as happily as "The Great Escape" did. (I'll whine about that movie later)
The final line in the magnificent seven was.

"We always lose"

How happy sounding is that? (this would be after the 7 was reduced to 2)

I liked it though, just like I like the Great Escape, it just catches me off guard when it's not happily ever after Like "El Dorado." : )

Well, it is only 7:55, I'm finished with school, have no chores to do, YAY! Gonna have a nice night.

Finished reading Macbeth, and really don't know what happened... I know Macbeth and his wife and several other people died, but, I'm kinda confused on who did what, when and how.

Hope my teacher explains it. (He's not nearly as good as Mrs. Schmuck was.)

Well, I'm going to go see what my family is watching downstairs.

Night All!

Batman or Buddy?

Had a fantastic time Sunday night at an afterglow. Hung out with friends, and got to know some people in my class a little bit better.

At one point the new Batman movie was being discussed when the question came up:

Who's better? Batman or Buddy the Elf?

You decide!

(I still haven't seen any of the new batman movies so my vote goes to Buddy!)

: )

Not much going on this week. I work thursday and friday, and will have to do some schoolwork on saturday.

I like the fact that I ended up taking American Government during the Presidential election. I'm learning how a lot of this stuff works. Pretty cool.

Not doing much right now, half watching "Primeval" A british TV show where there are 'anomalies' allowing dinosaurs and the like to travel to the present day, where our heroes must find them and send them back (a) before the anomalie closes. (b) without the public finding out. Not a very good plot, but fun to watch.

Kind of like "Speed Racer"

Well, I guess I'm gonna go.

Sunday

Oh, So not used to having a job. : )
So, worked 8 hours yesterday in comparison to my usual 4. It was okay, just another day of work, only really long. It was a saturday, so really busy, and the people working were:

me (still very slow),
a new Manager/Assitant Manager, (not sure which),
a guy who was only about 2 days my senior, and
an ERP, (Emergency Relief Personnel. They travel from store to store as needed, so he didn't know where anything was).

Because of that, the first couple hours were a little hectic.
It sounds worse than it was though.

It's an okay job, not one I want to have forever and ever, but fine for now.

Church Today! I love being around God's people. And I (usually) love listening to His Word being taught.
When I don't, it means somethings wrong with me, usually in the area of, "I'm doing something wrong"
That's still something that's difficult for me. I don't like to be wrong, but if I don't accept that I'm wrong I can't fix it. So, an area of growth for me.

Another area of growth is that I need to do right because it's the right thing to do, NOT because I don't want to have to go and ask forgiveness for it later. That would be Pride a.k.a, me not seeing myself like God sees me.

Well, I am going to go have some breakfast.
Have a good day all of you.
And I'll see some of you later.

Paint.net

My dad found a site called Paint.net, it has pretty much the same applications as the program I used to create: "Thinking on Them" below.

So I've been playing around with that for a while. Made these two last night and this morning.
Those are pictures we took when we went to England in 2003

And the one above is pictures from Peru in 2007.

Ah! I could do that stuff all day.

Had a question in one of the comments.
Yes, Fireproof is a "Christian movie"
and, according to IMDB.com number 4 in the box office! mad over $6 MILLION! how cool is that!
http://www.imdb.com/chart/

Also had a request for some "Sparky Speech"

A couple of Sundays ago I recited matt 28:19, Go ye therefore and teach all nations.
Then all of the Sparkies recited John 3:16 "For God so loved the world-"
One little boy pipes up.
"The whole world??? That's a lot of nations!"

We were also warned that week not to use the handrail because of possible boogers...

Sparks.

: )

Going over to pick my sisters up in a couple of minutes, then dropping them off at my Grandma's for a sleepover. Don't know what I'll do tonight, was gonna watch a movie with my mom, don't know if that's gonna happen though.

Alright, I'm outta here, got to go pick up my sisters.

Night all.

FIREPROOF

Okay, so, I went and saw "Fireproof" on Friday, I got to take my sisters, and it was the first time I got to go and do something non church or school related. (Don't get me wrong, I LOVE going to church, just something new)

Anyway, Fireproof was just as good as Facing the Giants and Flywheel, It was so incredibly sweet! One of the sweetest lines in the movie is

"Fourty-Three"

I'm not going to explain it, you'll have to go see it yourself. (It's Totally worth the 7 or 8 dollars)
Oh my Word it was fantastic!!!! SOOOOOOOO SWEET!!!!!!!!

Friday night was also the "Third Annual Video Scavenger Hunt"
That was also WAY fun.
There were a couple of new items added to the list, some involving my place of employment specifically. I'm not sure if that was on purpose or not...
So, I ended up:
  • playing duck-duck-goose in front of an open Save-a-lot.
  • washing my hair in a QT sink, (I know they get cleaned)
  • giving a member of my team a hug, (the item was give a gas station attendant a hug),
  • singing happy birthday to a member on the opposite team (get a store clerk to sing a recognizeable song)
I was also in a human pyramid in front (okay fine, off to the side) of MY QT. Gave doughnuts to some girls who were returning carts at a Dierberghs, among a couple of other things.

And yes, my team won by 3,000 pts. It should have been 8,000 (one of the girls got dressed up in full scuba gear) but, that was not on the video. No names will be mentioned...I love our camera-woman by the way.

I have a couple of projects in school to work on, but I am caught up as best I can be with the fact that the one project was never given a timeline, it was just "go work on your project." Which, I guess is a good thing, it will help me figure out when I need to get things done, organizational skills, which will be good to have when I go off to college. (hopefully next fall but we'll have to see about that.)

I am going to go make my dinner, and then go see if "Heroes" has been recorded yet.

Today was Wednesday

Today was Wednesday.
have had a good week so far, worked yesterday.

I've been reading Ephesians 1 for the past two days, using an NAS version. My dad said he would get me a study Bible, the options are NKJV or NAS, so I'm trying the NAS to see if it's so different from what I'm used to that it's uncomfortable. (which so far, it's not).

Found a verse, Eph 1:7-8, I Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (8) which He lavished on us...

Grace which he lavished on us. Couldn't really be put any better than that could it? I guess I shouldn't be surprised when I find really good wording or phrasing, after all it is God's Word.

The only thing I didn't care for in that was 'trespasses' personally I prefer 'sins' it just sounds more like it actually is. 'Trespasses' doesn't sound as bad to me.

Class was very good tonight, we talked about forgiveness.

I got caught up on some schoolwork today. *YAY*
Have a couple of difficult projects to work on still.

Proabably going to go take my sisters to see "Fireproof" Friday, really excited about that. It looks really good.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1129423/

I love my mom, she is so fantasic, I can go to her for anything.
Alright
I need some sleep.

Night all.

New Title

I finally came up with a better title than "What's Up?"
The Title "In the Center" Comes from Matthew West's song "The Center"
The gist of the song is I want to be exactly were God has put me and "I don't want to move unless You move me."
One of his best songs by the way.

Well, I added some new links on the side, came up with a new name for my blog and I looked around on connectionpoint.net, the bbfi's website.

Other than that, I've done school.
Now, I have to study for a poem quiz, and write my final draft of my "Everyman" essay.

Then later, my family and I will be watching the Heroes season premiere. (About time!)

alrighty, I guess I'm gonna go.

talk to you all later.

Hummm....

Don't really know what to post at the moment.
It's only 9:18 and I am TIRED. Had church today, and AWANA's. I like working in Awana, but don't like missing the evening service.

I work with the SPARKS (K-2) some of the things they say... oh my goodness, they are Hilarious!

Had some friends over yesterday, and had to work on friday. Still really slow... Hoping I get much faster at filling the coolers. That takes me like an hour.

Friday night was the Popcorn, Movie, and Sharing. ladies night at church. We watched "Flywheel" Such a good movie. Done by the same guys who did "Facing the Giants"

Well, have to work Tuesday, Wednesday is church and piano lessons, Thursday... I don't know what I'm doing, Friday is the Video Scavenger hunt! That'll be fun.

Saturday I have to work from 6-10. which I don't like since I have church in the morning. But, oh well, this is the only saturday I've had to work so far.

Okay, I am off to get some sleep.

Night All.

ARRRGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Okay, about to go crazy, had another long post written out, and it deleted itself when i tried to add a picture!

So, lets try this again.

The original title for this blog was "Waiting", but ARRRGGHHHHH!!!! kind of fits it a little bit better.

Well, I'm still waiting for BBC to write me back on my GPA/Grading scale question.
I'm seriously hoping that the lack of response is a good thing. Good as in "Yes, let's convert her GPA to our grading scale."
That is what I'm hoping for. But if that's not what happens no big deal. If I'm supposed to go to that school God will provide a way.
Not worried.

Last night's class was good.
We talked about "gently restoring" in our peacemaking series. One point made was: When you have to confront someone, you need to go in with the attitude of the both of you glorifying God, and growing in Christ together.

Our youth pastor and his family are awesome.

I drew a little bit yesterday. The eagle was in between classes, and the "Balance" was after school. I had wanted to do another cartoon, like I had done the tank, and I came up with a kid trying to balance her time.

I think trying to put those pictures up here is what has destroyed my post so far, so I'll put those up individually in a seperate post.

Alrighty, I need to go eat, and then get to school.
Don't work until tomorrow, and then next week I only work two days. So I'm not getting a whole lot of hours in.

Okay, write to ya later.

P.S. Scanners Rock!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

This is the 3rd post I've tried to put up here, so this is going to be really short.
Had a good class tonight.

write more in the morning.

Smiling Tank

One of the funniest phrases used at the conference was "You must be like a Smiling tank."

The meaning was, you need to direct the conversation firmly, but be smiling. Like a Smiling tank.

Today had school, got my hair trimmed. Very exciting, I know.

Work tomorrow, then more school.

Friday, there's an activity at church. Gonna watch the movie "Flywheel" It's done by the same guys who did "Facing The Giants." I love both of them.

Not really a whole lot to say.
Oh, waiting for BBC to write back to me on a question I had.

alrighty.

National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC)

Well, CDT is over for the month. I was ready to keep going. Now I have to wait 'till next month.
It was a long day, but a good day. God is good.

Well, I added a "Currently Reading" thingy over to the side there.
I just got The Attributes book, and the Pride to Humility book, and will be starting Ephesians monday, so technically, not "currently" reading. : )
I am however, halfway through John Piper's book. (very good by the way)
and have been reading my english lit book for however long i've been in school.
I'll be reading "Macbeth" shortly, looking forward to that.

I like to read.

I like to read books that give you big ideas that you have to sit and think about for a while before you understand them. And then when it "clicks" it's like "how did I not see that before?"

Not much going on this week for me. I'm only scheduled to work two days. : (
and one day is only for like 2 hours. But, that's okay, I get to go to a church activity, and will be able to catch up on some schoolwork. and study.

I HAVE to learn how to study, and learn to do it well.

My last year of school, so my GPA really needs to be higher than it is.

Alrighty, guess I'll try and figure out some stuff on Blogger, then go see what my family's up to.

Oh yeah.
I love having my liscence!

Counseling and Dicipleship Training

Ahhh, had a very good evening!
Went to the training tonight, and had a very good time, looking forward to tomorrow.
One of the speakers made a very good point, threw something into a different light for me.

"We have relatively short lives, 70+ years, then, forever."
Really makes you think about what's important.
What are you living for?

Work was good today.
Managed to overflow the coffee machine... hope that'll be the last time.

Drove on the highway for the first time with my nice liscence! Did not crash or hit anyone, and this was Friday at 3:00-4:00ish, so I'm pretty happy with that.

Okay, I need some sleep.

Think I might stick with the uncreative "What's Up?". Can't think of anything else.
I need to figure out how to make my name stay on the same line in my "About Me" spot to.
You have NO idea how much THAT is bugging me...

Alright.
Good night!

Very Much Excited

Tomorrow is the NANC conference at church. Totally thrilled to be going. I love learning about the Bible.
I just finished up the last of my homework, and still have work to do but I'll have to do that tomorrow.
This whole job thing is kinda crazy. I think I'm gonna have to get used to less sleep...

I still need to come up with a better title than "What's Up?" But that, like quizes and speed tests, is going to have to wait.

Hello All!

Well, look at this, I've got a blog.

Not much to say, just testing everything out.
